Paul R. D’Amato and Alexa D’Amato Barrera of the D’Amato Law Firm have been selected to the 2021 New Jersey Super Lawyers list. Paul R. D’Amato has been selected to Super Lawyers each consecutive year since 2005. Along with personal injury, he defends accident victims in different areas, including construction, products liability, and pharmaceutical litigation. Paul earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law School and is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Atlantic County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice (AAJ).
Paul’s work extends beyond the law as he also served as the mayor of Linwood, New Jersey between 2000 and 2002 and as a New Jersey State Assemblyman for the Second District. Other professional awards include being named Professional Lawyer of the Year in 2006 by the Commission on Professionalism in the Law of the New Jersey State Bar Association and the Atlantic County Bar Association. New Jersey Magazine also named Paul as one of the Top Plaintiff Personal Injury Attorneys and he received the AAJ Award for Monumental Efforts.
Alexa D’Amato Barrera has been selected to Super Lawyers each consecutive year since 2014. Prior to that Alexa was a New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Stars from 2008 thru 2012. She represents victims in personal injury litigation, as well as families in special education matters. Alexa earned her law degree from Rutgers University School of Law and is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She served as Assistant Counsel for Atlantic County before she joined the D’Amato Law Firm.
Alexa previously served as a trustee for the Atlantic County Bar Association and as the Chair for the New Lawyers Division. She also chaired the American Association for Justice’s New Lawyers Division and was on the New Jersey Association for Justice Board of Governors and served with the New Jersey State Bar Association as a member of the Auto Reparations Committee. In her community, Alexa is a previous member of the Linwood School Board and is an active member of the Ensign John R. Elliott HERO campaign and FACES 4 Autism, where she helps raise money for Massi’s Mission. Named after Alexa’s son, Massi’s Mission helps children on the autism spectrum learn how to survive in the water. Most recently Alexa was honored to receive the 2021 Meyer-Segal Award, which recognizes exemplary leadership in the community, the profession, the New Jersey Association for Justice, and the mission of the NJAJ Women Trial Lawyers Caucus.
